Sam
lives in the beautiful foothills of Middle Tennessee, with his wife Linda on 77 Ranch, their 92 acre farm.  He raises quarter horses, Texas long horn cattle, goats and an assortment of dogs and cats.  It is in this serene and secluded setting, that they host numerous Clinics, Trail Camps and private weekends during the year.  Their accommodations include a 100 X 60 indoor arena, outdoor arena, round pens, and stalls.  Sam also travels extensively conducting Clinics.  As a 3 Star Instructor, he is endorsed to teach Levels 1, 2 & 3, and assess Level 1 & 2.

Sam's interest in horses began as a young boy.  Even at the age of four, he would stay in the field with his Pa and Dad all day just for the opportunity to ride the mules home at quitting time.  In the early 1960's, he started riding at saddle clubs. This evolved into participation in AQHA registered shows.  For several years he did colt starting and horse training for the public.

Even though he was an experienced horseman, his desire was to become an even more advanced horseman.   In 1991 he attended a demo by Pat Parelli, where he witnessed the remarkable results Pat achieved with his horse.  This was a life changing event for Sam that resulted in his beginning his own Parelli Journey.  He has attended numerous courses at the International Study Center in Pagosa Springs, CO with Pat and later at the ISC in Ocala, FL.  Sam became an Instructor in 1997.
